FAQS

Frequently asked questions about Hawaiian Tea.

1. Do you sell Mamaki? Yes and no. We occasionally source mamaki from Oahu as a base for our herbal blends, but we are NOT a mamaki company. Our focus is true tea made from camellia sinensis.

2. Why are your teas so much more expensive than other Hawaiian Tea brands? We think there are so many wonderful Hawaii based tea brands. Unlike many other brands, we have opted to source ONLY Hawaii grown ingredients, meaning we pay a premium on all our ingredients. By doing this we ensure we are able to support our local community and its farmers.

3. What is Hawaiian Tea? In some cases, people use the term "Hawaiian" to mean island inpired flavors. This is a very broad term. To me, Hawaiian teas are herbal tisanes (like mamaki & ko`oko`olau) that are native to the Hawaiian islands. We rarely have "Hawaiian Tea". Hawaii Grown Tea is something different all together. Hawaii Grown tea made from camellia sinensis, but it's not native (nor invasive) to Hawaii.
